Who we are

Wild Story Commons is run by Dr Joanna Gilar. Joanna has a PhD in fairy tales and ecology from the University of Chichester. She has lectured at Chichester and at Charles University, Prague, and currently works as a community storyteller, building projects for families and young people that strengthen communities via stories. She is passionate about inspiring young – and old – to discover the infinite wonder of the ordinary world.

Our Team

The Story Commons team is new and evolving. At the moment we

are made up of separate project teams, such as the Giant's Garden adventurers. Watch this space as we build connections and grow community, and if you'd like to be involved in any of the individual projects, or in the Story Commons as a whole, please get in touch

We also collaborate with mythologists and storytellers across the UK, including Dr Sharon Blackie and Brighton's LunarSea storytellers.
